Posada la Escondida

THE QUETZALAPAN JUMP

365 steps descending into nature

Did you know that a hydroelectric plant was built between the limits of Zacatlán and Chignahuapan? Indeed, it is a place full of history, magic and nature: El Salto de Quetzalapan is a majestic natural space that has the Quetzalapan River, which feeds the waterfall, about 100 meters high.

To reach this point, it is necessary to go down 365 stone steps, which it is said were built one for each day of the year.

In 1930, a hydroelectric plant was established that generated energy to supply the towns of Chignahuapan, Aquixtla and Zacatlán. Today, Quetzalapan is one of the busiest ecotourism parks in the region.

This space dedicated to the worship of nature and lovers of extreme sports, is open to anyone who wants to connect with nature and enjoy it to the extreme, since you can practice everything from the most relaxed, such as hiking, to the most extreme: zip lines, a suspension bridge, a high tension cable to walk over the waterfall, rappelling, archery and finishing with a good typical meal in the palapas of the site, or, camping quietly in the middle of the forest and staying in one of the cabins that Salto de Quetzalapan has prepared for you.

If you are a lover of nature and also of extreme sports, without a doubt the Salto de Quetzalapan is the ideal alternative that the Sierra Norte de Puebla has in store for you.
